Welcome to the wonderful world of Peplers and Peplows (and a few that can't decide which they are). We are a great people that wandered everywhere and got involved. We range from Bishops to rowdies tipping over farmer's buildings (outhouses?). My name is Marie Byatt. My grandmother was Florence Lydia Pepler and I am trying to organize this mob.
Officials around the globe have their own sense of spelling. So you may find us as Peplers. Bepplers, Peploes , Pepelowes, Paeplows and a host of other varieties. But we know who we are and can survive that way.
You are welcome to any of the data on this site but if you would like a picture or document image, please contact me first as most have been donated by others like yourselves.
This study is organized by Family Branches (lineages descending from a single individual).
Individuals that have been identified as part of a BRANCH will have the branch number after their name.
Each Branch also has an album of pictures of individuals, groups, places, etc. If you already know the Family number you are interested in - Check out the Albums and Branches.
Otherwise, find a Peplxx person you know and check their number. If the second digit is a 5 - it is a Germanic line, anything else probably originated in the British Isles.
We are using DNA to discover which branches may connect. We would love to get at least one male from each branch to do a Y-DNA test. If your line doesn't have a number yet - a DNA test can help us assign one.
This study is the work of many wonderful people - I'm just the recorder. We are trying very hard to achieve accurate records. So if you find an error or know we've missed something - please let me know - adjustments will be made.
Pepler Profile Page has more information about the name origins and distribution
HINT- it often easier to find a spouse's name when searching then finding the Pepler/ow partner.
