      These are original black and white glossy photographs that measure 5'' x 7''. On the back they are stamped with the description and dated 1954.

      The first is: "In front of the special services’ Biwako Hotel (by Lake Biwa, Shiga Prep., Japan, MAJ. GEN. GEORGE B. PEPLOE, former C. G for SWC, (HOLDING HIS HAT) says farewell to members of SWC prior to his departure to AFFL’S GI-1 Section, AFFE Headquarters." Photo’s were done at the CAMP OTSU PHOTO LAB in Japan.

      The second: In front of the special serviced Biwako Hotel (by Lake Biwa, Shiga Prep., Japan, Maj. Gen George B. Peploe, (left with civilian clothes) former C. G. For SWC, says farewell to members of SWC prior to his departure to AFFL’S GI-1 Section.

      Colonel George B. Peploe commanded the 38th RCT consisting of the 38th Infantry; ''A'' Company, 2d Tank Battalion; ''C'' Battery, 2d AAA; and the 38th FA Battalion in the Korean war.
